- The news story said that the basis for Escom's slight financial
- shortfall was mostly due to the combination of a soft European market
- for PC's in general, their involvement with the Rumbelow's chain in the
- UK, and a substantial difficulty in lining up parts and assemblies for
- redoing the Amiga and Commodore(sic) computers for world wide distribu-
- tion. There was no comment from Escom quoted. There was no mention that
- they were shipping the A4000 at the present time, nor any specifics of
- any other models.
- The same story noted that Japanese and Taiwanese companies were not
- doing as poorly in Germany nor the rest of the EU.
